Three tunnels. One has gold. The crew picks one. Then someone might light dynamite in one of the other two, and that tunnel is out. Now each miner decides: stay with the pick, or switch to the tunnel that’s left.

That’s the famous Monty Hall puzzle. Most people say “always switch,” but that only works if whoever lit the dynamite knew where the gold was. Here it depends on who did it:

Nobody tells the miners. Old Timer’s guess for this part of the mine:

Rookie is the AI. It started knowing nothing and learns from every pick. Old Timer knows every trick and does the math perfectly. Bookworm always switches after a blast, because that’s what the book says.

Is the Rookie learning?

While you watch one pick, the Rookie practices in another part of the mine, out of sight, about 25 picks a second. Same brain, so everything it learns there shows up here.

The chart is gold each miner has missed in practice, compared with someone who always knew who lit the dynamite. A line that goes flat means no more mistakes.
